Al-Mizan Primary Celebrates Outstanding 2025 SATs Results
Al-Mizan Primary School, based in the East London Mosque, is proud to announce another year of exceptional academic achievement in the Key Stage 2 SATs, with results that significantly exceed both national and local averages.
This year (2025), an impressive 96% of pupils met the expected standard in Reading, and 96% in Maths, marking a notable rise from the previous year and placing our pupils over 20 percentage points above national averages. In Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling (SPaG), we maintained our outstanding 100% success rate from 2024.
Ustad Monjur, Year 6 teacher, shared:
It has been a privilege to work closely with our Year 6 pupils this year. Their remarkable SATs results are a reflection of their resilience, focus, and unwavering commitment to learning. I’ve seen them grow not only in academic ability, but also in maturity and character. I am deeply proud of each one of them, and grateful to have played a part in their journey. May Allah continue to bless them with success in the years ahead.
Writing results remained strong, with 78% achieving the expected standard, comfortably above the national figure of 72%. The combined Reading, Writing and Maths (RWM) score rose to 78%, representing a 16% lead over the national average and a significant improvement on last year's 67%.
Headteacher Anamul Khan praised the students and staff for their hard work and dedication:
These outcomes are a testament to the commitment of our teachers, the determination of our pupils, and the unwavering support of our families. To see such significant improvements, particularly in Reading and Maths, is incredibly rewarding and reflects the strength of our curriculum and teaching.
Further highlights include Strong performance across both boys and girls, with particularly high attainment in Reading and SPaG:
- 44% of pupils achieved greater depth in Reading (National average 33%).
- 41% reached greater depth in SPaG (National average 30%).
Two of the children thanked Allah, their parents and staff:
My name is Umar Al-Mansur, and I have been at Al-Mizan for four years. I recently completed my SATS, and I couldn’t have done it without the help of my teachers and parents. I worked hard revising and felt confident during SATS week because I had faith in Allah and was well prepared. I am grateful for all the support I received at Al-Mizan.
My name is Khadeejah Ryhan, and I am in Year 6 at Al-Mizan. I am proud of myself and my class because we worked hard for our SATS, Alhamdulillah. Although it was stressful, we supported each other, and it felt amazing when we received our results. We couldn’t have done it without the support of our teachers and parents and the help of Allah.
These results affirm Al-Mizan’s position as one of the top-performing schools in Tower Hamlets and across all schools nationally, preparing pupils not only for academic success but also grounded in strong Islamic education and values.
